ULTRA 42, LUXE 30, PURE 20 or SOOTHE 10: Which Urea Cream Strength Is Right for You?

If you’ve ever stood in front of our shop page wondering whether to grab ULTRA 42, LUXE 30, PURE 20 or SOOTHE 10, this guide is for you. Choosing the right urea cream strength is the difference between feet that feel transformed in a fortnight and a half-used jar sitting in your bathroom drawer.

And with the EOFY sale running until 30 June, picking the right one (or letting our bundle decide for you) has never been cheaper.

  • ULTRA 42 — thick callus, problem cracks, neglected heels
  • LUXE 30 — bestseller. Everyday dryness, the default for most adults
  • PURE 20 — light dryness, sensitive skin, daily maintenance
  • SOOTHE 10 — recovery formula with menthol + magnesium for tired feet
  • Can’t decide? The Complete Urea Care Set bundles all four for $59 (was $115)

How urea actually works on feet

Urea is a humectant — it pulls moisture into the upper layers of skin. At lower concentrations (around 10%) it acts as a moisturiser. Above 20%, it also begins to break down the bonds in dead skin cells, which is what helps soften thick callus and stubborn dry patches.

That’s why the right urea cream strength depends less on personal preference and more on what your feet are actually like. The good news: once you know which end of the ladder you sit on, it’s an easy call.

According to dermatology research summarised by the DermNet, concentrations above 20% provide measurable keratolytic (skin-softening) effects, while below 20% the cream is primarily hydrating.

Matching urea cream strength to your skin

Here’s the four-tier breakdown, in plain language:

ULTRA 42 — for thick callus and problem feet

Our strongest formula at 42% urea plus salicylic acid. This is the cream you reach for when you have thick callus on the heels, dry cracks that catch on sheets, or feet that have been neglected for years. It’s not subtle — you’ll see softening within a week of nightly use.

Best for: tradies, runners, anyone over 50 with chronic hard skin, post-pregnancy heel cracks, diabetic foot care under clinician guidance.

LUXE 30 — the bestseller

30% urea blended with coconut oil. This is the default urea cream for most Australian adults. Strong enough to soften everyday dryness and the start of hard skin, gentle enough to use morning and night without irritation. If you’re unsure, this is the one we’d recommend trying first.

Best for: anyone with general foot dryness, the start of cracked heels, or who wants a single cream that works for the whole household.

PURE 20 — light daily hydration

20% urea with no actives. This sits at the threshold where urea begins to help with hard skin, so it’s a good entry point if your feet aren’t badly dry but you want to keep them comfortable. Also works well as a morning cream when you use a stronger formula at night.

Best for: light dryness, sensitive skin, partners or kids who don’t need the full Ultra 42 treatment, or as a maintenance cream once your feet have improved.

SOOTHE 10 — recovery gel for tired feet

Our gentlest formula. 10% urea blended with menthol and magnesium, so it doubles as a soothing recovery cream after long shifts, big walks, or hot summer days. The cooling sensation is real and immediate.

Best for: tired aching feet, runners on rest days, nurses and hospitality workers on their feet all day, sensitive skin that can’t tolerate stronger formulas.

When you can’t pick: the EOFY bundle

If you’re reading this and genuinely can’t decide — or you’d like to try a few before committing to one — the EOFY bundle is built exactly for you. All four strengths, packed together for $59 (a $56 saving on the individual price of $115), available only until 30 June.

You’ll have ULTRA 42 ready for the worst of winter heel cracks, LUXE 30 for daily use, PURE 20 for partners or maintenance, and SOOTHE 10 for tired evenings. Most households work through one jar every 4–6 months at daily use, so this set genuinely lasts.

How to use a urea foot cream properly

The product only does half the work. Application matters:

  1. Apply at night, just before bed. Skin repairs while you sleep, and overnight is when urea does its best work.
  2. Use on slightly damp feet after a shower — locks in moisture more effectively than dry application.
  3. Wear cotton socks to bed for the first week. Boosts absorption and protects your sheets.
  4. Be patient. Visible softening typically happens in 7–10 days. Severe callus may take three weeks.
  5. Once feet improve, drop to maintenance (PURE 20 every second day) rather than continuing the strongest formula.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use ULTRA 42 every day?

Yes for the first 2–3 weeks while you’re treating thick callus, then step down to LUXE 30 or PURE 20 for maintenance. Continuous high-strength use isn’t necessary once the heavy work is done.

Will urea cream sting?

Not on healthy skin. If you have open cracks or broken skin, start with SOOTHE 10 or PURE 20 first to let the skin close, then graduate to a stronger formula. ULTRA 42 contains salicylic acid which can sting open cracks briefly.

Is one jar enough for me and my partner?

If you both need the same strength, one jar lasts a household roughly 3 months at daily use. The EOFY bundle is the easier answer for couples — you can match each person to the strength their feet actually need.

When does the EOFY sale end?

11:59pm AEST on 30 June 2026. The EOFY code returns 40% off sitewide, and the Complete Urea Care Set bundle reverts to its standard $115 price the next day.

Whichever you pick — or if you pick all four — apply your EOFY code at checkout, and your feet will thank you in a fortnight.
